[quote:Anonymous Coward 992437:MV8xNDY0NDYwXzI0MTU3OTM3X0RGMURBMjlG] [quote:Life and Love] Yes, which is why it is good to look at the research of other people, just as we do for the other versions. My principal concern isn't finding factual problems as much as knowing that any 400-year old text needs "re-translating." There is the temptation of some teachers/preachers to do a personal and biased "re-translating" for their adherents. (Not consciously or maliciously, but we all bring our own points of view to the table when we read a text.) One very positive thing about the KJV is how it is nicely tied to the Strong's Concordance, though that, too, has to be handled with care, as Strong's provides terse, one-word English equivalents. It is better to use a broader commentary with in-depth discussion. Again, I have seen some teachers/preachers who use Strong's more to prove a personal point than to let the text speak for itself. I speak/preach fairly frequently, and I have to admit to a heavy burden I feel when "rightly handling the Word of God" before others. It is difficult to get the "self" out of the way and to let the Word speak directly to the listeners. Blessings, and thanks for sharing. :hf:
Just an observation: A friend lets you use his vehicle to get to work. When you arrive at his garage, you see two vehicles > a brand new 2011 Lamborghini and a beat-up 1975 pickup truck. Which do you choose? Clearly the 2011 car is better in every respect but the older truck works just as well. The answer exposes motives. What is perfection? Is it flawlessness or is it the appearance only of flawlessness intended?
I believe the King James version of the Holy Bible is the
only
English bible we should rely on. I believe it is purified and preserved by the hand of God. I have studied the history of the bible and the creation of modern versions like the NIV, NASB, and NLT et al. and have discovered they are all corrupted.
There are three common signs of corruption:
1.
changing Acts 12:4 to "passover" instead of the correct word "Easter" ( [

2.
getting rid of Satan's pre-fall angelic name "Lucifer" out of Isaiah 14:12 and even replacing with "morning star" or "day star" which is Jesus Christ as in Revelation 22:16 - 2 Peter 1:19 ( [

3.
an incorrect reference to Isaiah in Mark 1:2
What started me on this quest was a book called "An Understandable History of the Bible"

After reading that book I then realized there was a problem, so I then read the book "New Age Bible Versions" by Gail Riplinger and it blew my mind on the subject.
