Dutchsinse mentioned rings in the Seattle radar a few days ago and said to expect a big storm in a few days. I also noted dagger-like shapes in the radar pointing in a northwest direction. At that time, I thought that the chance of major weather coming from the southeast is extremely low, and forgot about it.

We just got rained on in the Portland area

I got home a little while ago and looked at the westher map. The radar map showed a quickly gathering storm approaching from the southeast...lined up with the dagger i saw two days before!

Right now it is over Yakima and Hanford, heading straight across the mountains to the Seattle area. It should reach you Puget Sounders in an hour (6:15 pm).
