[quote:Anonymous Coward 18152328:MV8xNTE4ODA4XzMyMDI1ODUwX0QyMEEwN0Yy] [quote:Spazz:MV8xNTE4ODA4XzMyMDIwNjY0X0MzMEE0RDEw] So much of this rings true for me, I have posted many memories of it in the MGM thread. After digesting this particular thread today it made me wonder if anyone else had this picture when they were growing up? There is a long story associated with the picture because I lost it when I was 9 but it haunted me my whole life until a few years ago I sought it out and got two copies of it (one an original lithograph). I used to have this hanging over my bed as a kid, need I point out the butterfly reference - not only does she have wings but there is a butterfly on her head. If this triggers anyone I am sorry, I am just trying to see if this is familiar to anyone else. :Butterfly Girl:
I had a similar image at my grandmother's. Ours had more green. Not the same image but similar style- the way the paint is applied, the use of light, etc- and with girls (but more than one..I think there were two main characters), and yeah there were wings. In mine a girl's legs were immobilized by something...a skirt of some sort that looked like ceramic. I never really thought about it by itself. Pretty much my grandmother's entire life was out of place if you tried to compare it against the explanations and stories...seemed silly to go questioning just her artwork lol. The masochist question was me as an AC.
What if you have no evidence of such, but there have been strange things happen your entire life?
What about memories that you are not sure if they actually happened or you just dreamed them?
And how would a 30 something yr old adult, know if they were ever abused as a child, but most likely not by parents?
I have many many questions, and absolutely no answers!
