A convicted murderer has claimed he was behind the shooting of Tupac Shakur which sparked a deadly feud resulting in the rapper's death.
The shooting of Shakur outside a Manhattan studio in 1994 started the notorious hip hop war between the east and west sides of America.
It led to the eventual deaths of Shakur and his rival rapper Christopher 'Notorious B.I.G' Wallace, also known as Biggie.
Both of the murders, which took place in separate incidents, remain unsolved.
The claims over the 1994 shooting were made in an online posting by Dexter Isaac, 46.
He alleged that he was paid by hip hop mogul James 'Jimmy Henceman' Rosemond, who is the head of Czar Entertainment and manager of former boxer Mike Tyson, to rob Shakur outside the Quad Studio.
Shakur, who has sold more than 75million albums worldwide, suffered gunshot wounds but eventually recovered.
