Meanwhile, in Nebraska, the flooding alert issued by the Nebraska Public Power District for the Cooper Nuclear Station near Brownville, Neb., didn't stop the plant from operating at full capacity Sunday. The Fort Calhoun Station, another nuclear plant along the Missouri River in eastern Nebraska, issued a similar alert June 6. That plant near Blair, Neb., has been shut down since April and will not be reactivated until the flooding subsides. (scroll to bottom of the article)

Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS) is a boiling water reactor (BWR) type nuclear power plant located on a 1,251-acre (5.1 km²) site near Brownville, Nebraska. It is the largest single-unit electrical generator in Nebraska.

from another thread..
The Brownville levee is reported to be dangerously close to breaking. Sandbagging efforts have been abandoned. One wonders how such a break would affect Cooper Nuclear just three miles downstream.
