Weve heard alot about nuclear technology this year. It goes without saying that Fukushima and the dual Nebraska stories top the list of industrial flubs but to simply say these were the problem is to be scoffed at. Other plants (including one in dallas? Philadelphia?) have been shut down as well due to earthquakes and other anomolous activity. Details have been vague every step of the way with TEPCO, DOE and other abbreviated persons (corporation is a person) saying mum.
What i wish to do here is to list all nuclear stories within the last 1-5 years on the North American continent to inform people living near those sites if they are in operation, or if they have been upgraded. The goal is not to blame anyone for the forces of nature but to have a recent but comprehensive anthology of Americas Nuclear industry. Nothing bad can ever come from an informed and alert nation. 400 million people with helping hands can do far more than two or three small companies. Nuclear catastrophe is the 'Sum of all Fears' to the American, Canadian and Mexican people. The total of all the dangers outweighs any other potential catastrophe.
As I come across stories I'll post them, if anyone has favorite articles to add or remember key events, I ask of you to help. A clipboard of past crises can let the public help, as the more people helping can fix any problem. There are alot of good people on this continent that would love to assist in making the country more secure.
