[quote:JDSGUAM2:MV8xNTU5ODYxXzI1OTYwMTY4X0M0RUI2OUIx] [quote:MONSTER] It gets better every day, first day thought about them every second, 2nd day every 3 seconds, 3rd day every min. 4ht day every 5 min 6th day every 10 min 2nd week only when talking on phone, getting in car, after eating. after a month dont miss them unless you think in your mind you do. I smoke 2 pks a day sometimes more for 25 yrs, hated paying to kill myself. hard first 2 weeks but boy I can walk up stairs now ,no coughing. Worth stopping
That is exactly how I quit twice (cold turkey) for as much as four (4) years. But, silly me - I thought a single smoke would help me sleep at night... and it did for the first week and then wouldn't you know it - I'm back to a pack a day!! What an asshole (me). Tonight I just spent $200 bucks on a E-Cigarette Kit - Almost the same as having a cigarette - about (95%) there. I hope I can stick with it... I really do! I have to say... so far - the e-cigarette is much better than any thing I've tried in the past (i.e. gum, patches, etc). The "timing" of thinking about smoking is perhaps the best method to quit. Like the above poster wrote... in 6 months - weeks will pass without you thinking about a cigarette! I know that to be truth! "Monster" is totally correct. In a year... a few months will pass. Unfortunately for me (and many others) that is where most of us break down.... we take it for granted - tobacco is far more additive than most other toxins out there - it's just so easy to get and be around that most of us don't see that degree of addictive(ness). A single smoke will let your mind believe it can handle another and then tomorrow another - no problem - but, within a weeks time - your back to a pack a day habit! I just hope to hell this e-cigarette will help me get back on track and some day doubles my 4 year non-smoking point to that which extends to the rest of of my life on this earth.
I quit for 7 years, then i picked the bad habit up three years ago, and quit many times in the three years, once as long as six months. seemed like nothing to quit but this time around it's so damn hard.
i wonder if they're putting more addicting agents in these lovely deadly sticks to make it harder to quit. anyone out there that has recently quit smoking?
