You have to bear in mind that a system that makes a virtue of personal wealth will be driven by the tendency for that wealth to consolidate in fewer and fewer hands. This is an immutable law of any system based on the accumulation of surplus value. In other words, we are prisoners of the material forces we surround ourselves with.
