[quote:surfdaddy:MV8xNTgwNzYzXzQxMjIzMjAzX0ZFRjk0ODYw] [quote:Anonymous Coward 1437365:MV8xNTgwNzYzXzdGNzQxMTNE] The entire system of policing and governing this country is a total mess. I have never needed to call the police for anything. If I ever do have to call them.....I will appreciate it when a few good officers show up and help me out with whatever it is I need. I will be thankful of their services, and I will respect them for what they do. However.....if I dont call em, I dont need em. I dont need them lurking everywhere I may go, just waiting and watching for a mistake. Occasionally manufacturing reasons to approach/fine me for something. About 1.5 years ago I was pulled over three times in one weekend for no apparent reason. The first cop tells me "as I passed you heading in the opposite direction, it appeared that your emissions and inspection stickers were expired. I see now that they are not. Have you been drinking? Would you consent to a breathalyzer?" Second cop says "I pulled you over because your license plate appeared to be crooked as if one of the screws may have been missing. Now that Im looking at it up close, I see its fine. Have you been drinking? Would you submit to a breathalyzer?" Third cop..... "I pulled you over because as I crested the hill and you and we began to approach one another, you did not turn your high beams off quickly enough. Have you been drinking...." you know the rest. And no....I had not been drinking. I do not drink and drive. But I was still pulled over by three different cops on one weekend while driving after dark. All claims "sounded" fishy til they got to the real reason why they pulled me over. Just checkin up to see if they got a DUI case on their hands. I've never had anything like that happen before or after, so I guess they were on crunch time that weekend really looking to fill a quota. Point is....my insurance company doesnt do that to me. I pay em for a service. They respond if I need them. They leave me the hell alone if I dont. The damn septic tank guy doesnt show up un-announced and pump my tank just for the hell of it and then charge me,. I dont need babysat. I dont need somebody meddling in my affairs. If we as Americans were allowed to defend ourselves without so much worry of legal repercussions......we wouldnt need so many police either. Come on out if we call you. Otherwise....relax at the station. I'll worry bout myself unless I feel like I need those services. Same with Govt. We'll let you know if we need anything. Otherwise....Im not paying you to be involved in my daily affairs. Id like to see that day those 800,000 cops in this country all take a day off. Hell take the week off. The one and only thing that will change for me is that I'll look in my rear view mirror much less if Im driving during rush hour or after dark.
It's all about the $$$ they get for arresting DUI drivers. A fucking numbers game where they pull over as many folks as they can in hopes of making an arrest. Don't get me wrong, they aren't all like that. The actions of the 99% asshole cops taint the other 1% of good ones.
The entire system of policing and governing this country is a total mess.
I have never needed to call the police for anything. If I ever do have to call them.....I will appreciate it when a few good officers show up and help me out with whatever it is I need. I will be thankful of their services, and I will respect them for what they do.

About 1.5 years ago I was pulled over three times in one weekend for no apparent reason. The first cop tells me "as I passed you heading in the opposite direction, it appeared that your emissions and inspection stickers were expired. I see now that they are not. Have you been drinking? Same with Govt. We'll let you know if we need anything. Otherwise....Im not paying you to be involved in my daily affairs.
