[quote:Anonymous Coward 1110734:MV8xNTg3OTA4XzM0NjY2NDg5XzU3NUQ4MTZD] Simple dishes to help heal us: Kimchee Kimchee is a Korean dish of fermented Napa cabbage. It's stored in a dark place for three days or more, and it develops a Lactobacillus culture, the variant of what's used in yogurt. Our digestive system needs healthy bacteria in order to overwhelm harmful ones like Shigella, E coli, and C dificile and many other anaerobic (doesn't need oxygen to survive). Some people think that it helped people during the SARS epidemic, and chickens infected with H5N1 recovered after eating kimchee. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimchi All of the most common ingredients can be grown in your garden, and I've discussed making vinegar from grapes and apples (see earlier posts). To ferment garlic: http://www.deliciousobsessions.com/2012/09/52-weeks-of-bad-a-bacteria-week-32-lactofermented-garlic-updated-for-the-pickl-it/ This creates the Lactobacillus culture for dosing the recipe. Kimchee recipes: http://www.insanitytheory.net/kitchenwench/authentic-traditional-kimchi-recipe/ http://www.deliciousobsessions.com/2012/02/52-weeks-of-bad-a-bacteria-week-5-kimchi/ It contains a lot of vitamins and minerals: A, C, B1, B2, Calcium and Iron. I know it smells, but it tastes good! If you've gotten sick, and you had to take antibiotics (maybe some of you sourced some pet ones), then you know that many of those broad spectrum kinds kill ALL bacteria, which is bad because that's why some of you got or will get C dificile. That's all bad because it so very hard to eliminate and will colonize your digestive tract. This is why you need to eat kimchee especially when something like antibiotic use happens even now. There are many free homeschooling sites with pdf files. It would be great to have them just in case there are issues.
Get medications that your kids need. See if your doctor will prescribe 3 months supplies for them.
Get some presents tomorrow for Christmas. Little gifts that you could give out not only then, but throughout the year as incentives. They'll really appreciate them.
Children can thrive in the woods as long as they have calm parents. They cannot keep up with your pace up and down tails. You've got to plan adequately if you do have to walk some.
Kids are used to incorrectly using a backpack since kids at school wear them in the wrong fashion, which adds too much stress to their lower back. You'll have to reteach them how to buckle it properly and position it higher than they used to wearing it.
Try to make gathering wood into a game. Teach them as much about nature as possible. Being quiet is as important as talking.
Kids love open fires. Tell stories. It can simply be times when they did wonderful things when they were younger. They love hearing how much you love and adore them. Even teens.
Hug and kiss them often. Be generous with your affection. Lavish it on them
