This means the helo will go down hard but it does not mean an explosion in the air and a disintegrated aircraft falling to the ground. If the chopper fell off of a cliff and cartwheeled down a mountain that is a different beast. That type of crash could cause catastrophic damage to the passengers and increase the chance of the bird catching on fire.
So a hard, violent crash will literally rip the bodies into unidentifiable pieces then......Riiiiiight. There is only one way bodies can be BLOWN TO BITS....and it ain't from ANY kind of mere crash, not in a helo. I doubt a 757 flying at 325+ mph into the face of a granite mountain would explode every body on board. If you took one of the rotor out, without it to counter the torque.. it will rotate violently and come down really hard, equally catastrophic to the passengers.

What Still Bothers Me About the Downed Chinook
The catastrophic nature of the crash of the Chinook that took the lives of Navy SEALs, the Chinook’s US Army Reserve air crew, and seven Afghan soldiers raises some troubling questions. We have seen helos brought down with RPGs before. Two went down in the streets of Mogadishu, Somalia back in 1993. Neither exploded and the bodies recovered were not unrecognizable because of the crash. So what happened to the Chinook that went down last Saturday?

What if he theory is close to the truth, but just close. I will post my take in a while, but let me hear yours.
Larry Johnson the owner of No Quarter is a former CIA Agent. He runs a good forum too.
