Original Message Here wego again. A bill is in the Senate with major increases in the taxes on tobacco products.

One part of it is raising the tax on pipe (actually cigarette) tobacco from $2.83 per pound to just short of $50 dollars.

Cigarettes are going up too. From $50.33 to $100.50

(1) PIPE TOBACCO (thick cut cigarette tobacco labeled as "pipe" tobacco to circumvent cigarette tax)- Section 5701(f) of the IRS Code of 1986 is amended by striking ‘$2.8311 cents’ and inserting ‘$49.55’.
