There's that part in the Bible where Jesus' chastises Peter for sinking because he had too much faith. Then there's that part where he says that faith can't move mountains. After that he ends up being crucified for something he didn't really believe in. If you have any trouble finding these verses, me and trinity are consulting the New Jerusalem Russ translation.
clever but you know I'm right faith is powerful but faith without action is useless let me put it to you another way my faith provides me with divine insight but if I'm not willing to act on it it's not much good to me is it?
Are we going to have our own schism here, lol? Pretty sure this question has already been discussed. It's a debate about semantics. If you really have faith, you're compelled to act. By definition, you don't really have faith if you're not willing to act on it. It's also important to remember that sometimes faith compels us to do what looks like nothing. Israel wanted a king to free them from the Romans and they got a poor Nazarene who accepted death on a cross. It's also important to note that actions can be but aren't necessarily proof of faith. I promise I won't make you milk a cow!
But seriously, my home is available for anyone too broke to pay for a hotel stay or anyone who just wants to ride out the storm with fellow GLPers. Let me know if anyone is interested! We are just North of Asheville. Plenty of room!
