Just received the email from building management for area of Lower NYC:
Dear Tenants, As I’m sure you are aware a potentially dangerous hurricane may hit our area at some point over the weekend. In preparation of the storm please read below: - Make sure you’re windows are closed and stay as far away from them as possible during the Hurricane. - Tenants with patios are required to bring their furniture inside their apartments prior to the Hurricane. - Tenants who have storage items in the garage on the 2nd and 3rd floors (i.e. bicycles or strollers) must remove the items by 9:00am tomorrow morning or they will be removed by the building staff. - It is recommended to keep the following items on hand: extra cash, batteries, flash lights, battery operated radio, bottled water, toilet paper, non perishable food such as cereal or crackers, canned goods, can opener, and a small cooler. If you have small children stock up on baby wipes, diapers, formula and baby food. - The community room and gym will be closed during the Hurricane. - In the event you are forced out of your apartment during the storm the screening room on the 9th floor is a safe option.
Under your doors tonight will be a fact sheet from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) with more detailed information on what to do during a Hurricane or you can go to their website at [link to www.fema.gov]
