Simply because Irene’s winds will not be extreme does not mean that the damage will not be extreme and crippling. Tornado Damages Homes in Delaware http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/breaking/Tornado-From-Hurricane-Irene-Touches-Down-in-Delaware-128539198.html 2 million Virginians without power; surge prompts flooding concerns http://www2.timesdispatch.com/news/2011/aug/27/2-million-virginians-without-power-surge-prompts-f-ar-1268886/
Yes I agree, and did say that Irene was still a dangerous storm. Just not as bad as the powers that be would have everyone believe.
Predicting weather is an inexact science and if you look back to Hurricane Katrina, the weather reports clearly stated it would be a powerful hurricane yet few listened. When reality struck fingers pointed towards President Bush instead of the governor of Mississippi failure to take New Jersey Governor Chris Christie stance an exclaiming, “Get the hell off the Beach”.
Here in Staten Island where I live, mayor Bloomberg oredered mandatory evacuations on all flood zones. That's why everyone is hunkered down at my home. Better to be safe than sorry!
It didn't have the power that everyone thought, and I fought with my family about it. Everyone was so worried about it, but I told them it wouldn't be no where as bad as they made it out to be. No one would listen. So now here's the weather forecast for NYC where I'm located, and where this dud is supposed to hit. See below:
Sunday...Tropical storm conditions expected with hurricane conditions possible. Isolated thunderstorms in the morning. Rain. Rain may be heavy at times. Highs in the mid 70s. Northeast winds 55 to 70 mph...becoming northwest 50 to 60 mph in the afternoon. Gusts up to 80 mph...decreasing to 75 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain near 100 percent.
Don't get me wrong. I'm very happy it will be a dud. Now all you hurricane doomers can stop all the bullshit sensationalism along with the lamestream media!
