Has anybody ever done this without ruining there wirIng. I just had a transfer switch installed cost me 580 . Now a friend of mine says I'm a sucker cause all I had to do was back feed my generator 240 volt into my dryer 240 and shut off the main breaker and I would have power to my whole house. So is this safe? Was I dumb to buy the switch?
And can't this fry the houses wiring?
