[quote:Anonymous Coward 1529815:MV8xNjE5NDc1XzI2NzQ2NDQyXzgxMzQ4MENF] Ok, if main breaker is off how does it get back in the powerlines? If I Turn off the main breaker it kills the power in my house shouldn't it work both ways?If i'm running 25 amps in a 30 amp dryer breaker why is this a problem? I've done this off and on since 1997 never had a problem... but after this power outage i'm going to change to a lockout. [/quote]

Has anybody ever done this without ruining there wirIng. I just had a transfer switch installed cost me 580 . Now a friend of mine says I'm a sucker cause all I had to do was back feed my generator 240 volt into my dryer 240 and shut off the main breaker and I would have power to my whole house. So is this safe? Was I dumb to buy the switch?
And can't this fry the houses wiring?
