I'm from SOUTH GA and I do "respect the cicadas" but GOOD LORD.

They are annoying as hell and they will make you hurt yourself (if you're a jack a**) trying to avoid them...or killing them (by them flying into you!)!

What to do? They pis* me off like no other bug...I mean junebugs are annoying but at least they arent HUGE and LOUD all the time,

PS - If anyone would like a cicada for their sons'/daughters'/neices'/nephews' bug collection for CLASS let me know...in some parts of our country these weird freakin' bugs would be quite the treat!
