Hi. I am just curious if this is happening elsewhere.
10 years ago, the highest bill for electricity I got was during the summer months (with the AC on) - $167.00 in August.
NOW - my monthly "budget" payment is a whopping $525.00 per month! This is - NOT DOABLE for me. This is more than 3/4 of my weekly take home pay! Plus of course, like everybody else that does NOT work for the government, or in banking, I haven't had a RAISE IN ALMOST 5 YEARS. I am lucky to have a job at all and I know this.
I'm in New Jersey "at the shore".
Anyone else?
