Original Message When completed, TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline will bring nearly 20,000 direct
and 118,000 indirect jobs to Americans.

When completed, the Keystone XL pipeline will also safely deliver nearly 5 percent
(almost one million barrels per day) of America’s daily consumption of oil from Canada
to the U.S. Gulf Coast – without the risk of environmental damage from a supertanker
oil spill originating from the Middle East, and without the need of deploying U.S. troops
overseas to defend the oil at its source.

Who's for it [link to www.transcanada.com] :

Jimmy Hoffa and the Teamsters
Rocky Mountain Environmental Labor Coalition

Rick Perry
Mitt Romney
Michele Bachmann
Newt Gingrich
Rick Santorum
The American Legion
US Chamber of Commerce
scores of Mayors, Governors and entire State Legislatures

Who's against it:

Al Gore
Al Jazeera
New York Times
MoveOn.org
Sierra Club
Greenpeace
China
(who is willing to pay for another
pipeline to get their hands on the oil)

The public comment period will end October 9
and will include nine public meetings
in the states affected by Keystone XL: Texas, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota,
Oklahoma, ending in Washington, D.C. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will make her
recommendation to President Obama, who must make a decision to connect the Keystone pipeline
across the Canadian-U.S. border by November 1.

During this period, you have an opportunity to support the pipeline in a number of ways:
