Chronic Wasting Disease has a the potential to be a Whitetail Apocalypse. Yes, they acted like idiots. Yes, they did it in inhumane manner. And it is unfortunate they have no way to test the animals without killing them, but it was reasonable. Fallow deer are not indigenous to the USA and could potentially cause a bad disease to mutate into something far, far worse. Imagine that CWD spreads to fallow and mutates into a more virulent strain that spreads to Elk, Pronghorn, perhaps, even cattle! Is it unreasonable for the state to act here? No. Is how they went about idiotic? Abso-fucking-lutely! Everything I have come to expect from well trained government goons.
They were in a refuge, how could they get out to spread anything. Like shooting fish in a barrel or Cheney shooting quail.
Yeah but if we want to eat fish, we kill them instantly with a knife to the head. Buckshot is a cruel way to die unless its less than 10 feet away. Even then 5 feet. And a large running animal always runs away more than that before you hit them. Its torture.
Damn right it is. I am one of those who dislikes animal cruelty. I stand behind people like Bindi Irwin.
Your confusing birdshot with buckshot. Birdshot on anything but birds is cruel. Birdshot is a lot of very small bbs. 00 Buckshot in a 12 gauge is 9 .30 cal pellets. Its good to about 25 yards. This is like being hit by 9 .30 bullets at once. Death would be fast, its usually not allowed because it destroys to much meat when hunting and it spreads out past 25 yards making it more dangerous than a single bullet.
SO SAD PEOPLE!!!
A man who rehabilitates hurt deer is stunned after armed government agents stormed his rehab center and executed his deer with 12-gauge shotguns.
"They sent a bunch of guys in with 12-gauge shotguns and started blasting. Deer were running everywhere. It was not a sight for anyone to see. They were judge and jury and convicted my deer today within a matter of 30-45 minutes."
