Rabbi Eric Yoffie, the President of the Union for Reform Judaism stated in a blog post for the Jerusalem Post:

I care about humankind, but I love my own group a bit more. I am more comfortable with them. I care more about them, just as I care more about my family than other families.

While Rabbi Yoffie supports Palestinian statehood, he does it because he wishes for Israel to have a purely Jewish identity.

A Jewish progressive blogger, Philip Weiss, stated:
I believe that all people act out of self-interest. And jewish people who define themselves at some level as jewish people -- like myself for instance -- are concerned with a Jewish self-interest. Which in my case is: an end to Zionism. A theory of political life based on altruism or concern for victims purely is doomed to fail.

Jewish groups with anti-Zionist leanings are still only exclusively Jewish. Examples include the The International Jewish Anti Zionist Network (IJAN) and J-BIG.

Both Zionist and anti-Zionist Jewish groups appear to have a racist, Judeo-centric attitude.

Gilad Atzmon raised this issue at the Stuttgart One Democratic State Conference. While some applauded him, five German "progressive jewish people" insisted that he be removed from the conference's protocol.

Atzmon argues that Jewish culture is centered around tribalism and furthering the success of the group.
