If there's one thing I excel at that it's dwelling on/in the negative.

I might as well perfect my talent...see how far I can push it until a breaking point is reached.

Kind of like playing chicken with one's conscience.

Lose, lose either way.

I "win" and I get to undergo the task of pulling myself out of the tailspin.

Not much of a win there but it's something I guess...

I lose and I leave all my worries behind...presumably.

...though I have heard otherwise.

This is the one case where I will truly indulge in hope.
