I've never paid more than $2000 for a car, and always in cash. If you (o.p.) can't or won't fix your own cars and you're not wealthy, you really shouldn't be driving IMO. Fixing cars is half the fun of owning them, and the older the better.

well money is no problem for me! i just got a job and i still live with my parents and i start college next year  and ill be making rougly 300-400 dollars every 2 weeks so i can defintaly afford it now but i was just surprised at how cheap cars auctally go for i thought they where more expensive
