There are wars and rumors of wars and it is quite clear something is just over the horizon. I realize from spending several years on this board that most people are actually afraid to make the lifestyle changes that we discuss here.

Things like moving to the country, stockpiling food, security items, and prepping in general are fun to talk about but when push comes to shove most will do nothing.

With that in mind, it would be beneficial to begin a food storage program so your family can at least eat until you are overrun and killed, or forced into a FEMA camp due to lack of food.

If you wish, I can explain my methods of canning.
What I do is according to government guidelines so there is no danger when done properly.

As part of my research into history, I am appalled at how the resident populations are caught up in the middle of conflicts. The most common mindset I see in non-combatants such as farmers and city dwellers alike is that they actually believe they will be left alone by the invading force if they simply go on as normal and offer no threat to them.
