I work out of a constuction trailer and raccoons are getting in the ceiling. We've managed to trap about 20 in the past 3 years. We take them 25-30 miles away to release them.
Our ceiling is that plaster drop down kind. I'm usually the only one in here running the show. I get sooo creeped out when they walk above my head and that plaster panel starts to sag above me.
I've put moth balls up there to deter them, and they gather the mothballs and throw them outside. I've soaked rags in ammonia and this only works for about a day or two.
Apparently their entrance and exit is under this trailer somewhere but yet to be found.
I'm thinking there are about 6 up there now. Animal control said they would only come out if the raccoons were actually INSIDE my work space. They dont consider the so called attic work space.
So, what deters them?
