While Paterno definitely should have done more, as he himself says in his statement, he DID report this. He should have gone to the police, though. Nobody denies that. His greatest failing was letting the men he coached for so many decades down (in that he did not live up to the standard he himself set), but he is NOT the jerk a few are making him out to be.
But what about Pres. Stanier? He was above EVERYBODY. Of course he knew. Yet he did DIDLY. Good thing he s resigning.
Why are people seemingly pinning this on Paterno, though?
I don't get.
