The detection of more or less significative amounts of Iodine-131 running freely on Europe from an unknown source has arisen in the last weeks. Really they say that the "radiactive cloud" (they don't use this term, but "particles") doesn't get a dangerous radiation level for the people nor poses a public health risk... In first instance, it seems that the original source is not a nuclear plant, nor the Fukushima disaster. Iodine-131's half life is relatively very short, around 8 days.

The detection of "particles" has arisen in Middle Europe (ca. the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria...), and it seems that the "particles" haven't been noted on Ucrania nor Spain, for example, but yes on United Kingdom. According to some POVs, the inception of the "particles" could be related with sunken nuclear waste affected by the El Hierro volcanic activity...
However, on UK & some USA's the detection of high amounts of iodine-131 was in red alert shortly after the Fukushima disaster...
