Weather Modification
TDLR is providing information regarding license renewal, expiration and compliance to evacuees displaced by the effects of wildfires in Texas. TDLR is following Governor Perry's proclamation and implementing expedited reciprocity for licensed services necessary to aide in the response to this disaster. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (Department) proposes amendments to an existing rule at 16 Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Chapter 79, §79.80 regarding the fees in the Weather Modification program. The proposed amendments increase the weather modification original and renewal license fees from $650 to $750 and the weather modification original and renewal permit fees from $75 to $100.
The proposed amendments were published in the September 16, 2011, issue of the Texas Register, (36 TexReg 6102). The Department will accept comments on the proposal until October 17, 2011.TDLR encourages all persons interested in the regulation of the weather modification program to review the rule proposal.
Vacancy on Weather Modification Advisory Committee - The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (Department) announces a vacancy on the Weather Modification Advisory Committee (Committee) established by Agriculture Code, Title 9, Weather and Climate, Chapter 301. The purpose of the Weather Modification Advisory Committee is to advise the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation (Commission) on legislation, policies, administration, research, and other matters related to the duties, powers, or function of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation under this chapter.

NOTICE OF INTENTION WEATHER MODIFICATION PROGRAM THE SANTA BARBARA COUNTY WATER AGENCY HEREBY GIVES NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONDUCT A WEATHER MODIFICATION PROGRAM NATURE AND PURPOSE: The purpose of the project is to increase rainfall to help alleviate deficiencies of water supplies in Santa Barbara County. Clouds would be seeded by the dispersal of Silver Iodide (AgI). Two possible modes of seeding, air based and ground based, would be used. LOCATION OF PURPOSE: Project operations could be conducted during the period between November 15 and April 15, for each year, 2011-2012 through 2015-2016.
