[quote:A Voice In The Wilderness:MV8xNzQ4MTEzXzI4OTkwMDc1XzE5N0NDRTI2] [quote:Sir Phydeau:MV8xNzQ4MTEzXzI4OTg5OTEzX0U5RkM5MTIw] I fear that your post is utterly hopeless, Voice. To declare obedience to His Law these days gets us labeled "legalizers" or "judaizers". Usually stated with contempt. Modern Christians don't want to hear it. I prefer to call the vast majority of Christians "Paulians". Why? Because they, indeed, follow Paul, not HaMoshiach. This is demonstrated by the fact that any time you point out what Yahushua said concerning the law, they ALWAYS reply with "But Paul said ..." or quote something from Paul's letters. Now, I'm not bashing poor ol' Paul here, even if it sounds like it. The problem comes from the fact that the RCC "cherry picked" and then applied a lot of spin to his letters as if they were scripture. Most often when Paul's letters are saying that the law is not important to salvation it comes down to one of two things: 1) He is referring to Oral Torah ... aka the Talmud. Man made tradition that has been accepted by the Pharisee (aka Orthodox or Hasidic jewish people) as if it were YHWH's commandments. or 2) He's trying to get Hebrews to understand that a gentile does not need to learn 100% Torah before being "saved". Upon the gentile's acceptance of Yahushua HaMoshiach, he is indeed "saved". However, it's expected that he will then work out his salvation with fear and trembling by learning the commandments and learning to follow them, aka "repentance". I, personally, get quite frustrated by the "But Paul says ..." argument. I tend to look at it like this: Since when does a shift manager outrank the asst manager or general manager? So, even if Paul WAS saying that the law was abolished ... so what? The General manager (YHWH) says otherwise, as does the asst manager (Yahushua). Let's take a look at what Yahushua says concerning the law: Matt. 5:17-19 KJV 17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." I personally prefer the JNT version because it's FAR more accurate of a translation: Matt. 5:17-19 (JNT) 17 "Don't think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. 18 Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke [smallest elements of the Hebrew alphabet] will pass from the Torah-not until everything that must happen has happened. 19 So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot [commandments] and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven." Matthew 7:21-27 (ESV) 21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' 23 And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.' 24 "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it." A similar warning is found in Luke 13:24-27 Luke 13:24-27 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. Matt. 7:23 And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.' … Matt. 13:41 The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, 42 and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." … Luke 13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. The word "iniquity" is tossed around quite often by pastors and traditional Christians ... but it seems that they ignore what the word really means. "Iniquity" is the Greek is "Anomia". A - Without. Nomia - Law. The Greek word translated "lawlessness" in the NASB and "transgression of the law" in the KJV is one and the same word - anomia - and is shown from Strong's lexicon to be: 458 anomia {an-om-ee'-ah} from 459; TDNT - 4:1085,646; n f AV - iniquity 12, unrighteousness 1, transgress the law + 4160 1, transgression of the law 1; 15 1) the condition of without law 1a) because ignorant of it 1b) because of violating it 2) contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness Additionally, Thayer's Greek lexicon defines anomia the same as: 458 anomia {an-om-ee'-ah} from 459; TDNT - 4:1085,646; n f AV - iniquity 12, unrighteousness 1, transgress the law + 4060 1, transgression of the law 1; 15 1) the condition of without law 1a) because ignorant of it 1b) because of violating it 2) contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness The point to grasp is that in Matthew 7:23 and 13:41 HaMoshiach DIRECTLY condemns, in an undeniable FUTURE reference, those who have "contempt and violation of the Law" and/or who promote "the condition without Law (torah)". Those are not my words. Those are the words of Yahushua HaMoshiach, and individuals who do not like them provide proof of their choice to reject and oppose Him! Though the precise same Greek word, anomia, is not used in Luke 13:27 for the term of "workers of iniquity" as shown in the KJV, a very similar word is used. That Greek word is adikia. Among Thayer's Greek Lexicion's definition of this word is: a deed violating law and justice, act of unrighteousness. Furthermore, given the almost identical nature of the three statements we can be reasonably certain that the same meaning applies to all – that meaning being “contempt and violation of Torah.” There are many other examples coming right from the mouth of the Messiyah these Christians claim to follow ... yet they deny His words in favor of "numbered sound bytes" taken out of context from the letters of Paul. Often quoting "All scripture is good for reproof." ... failing to comprehend that when that letter was written, it's VERY unlikely that Paul was referring to his own letters when writing that statement. At the time, the ONLY "scripture" was TORAH. It always makes me kind of shake my head in amazement when I hear traditional Christians today say things like "Dancing is a sin!" or some other insane garbage ... all the while totally ignoring the 4th commandment to keep holy the sabbath day. Little do these poor, misguided folks realize, they're following the RCC when attending church on the venerable day of the Sun. :topope: Well, I think I've rambled long enough. So, in closing: I don't mean to offend or upset anyone. To paraphrase a line I heard once: "I bring you only the truth, does my bringing you the truth make me your enemy?"
I agree wholeheartedly. Those who look for an excuse to continue to live in sin will always find it, as the first quote in my signature brings out very clearly. As you pointed out, they will 'cherry-pick' a few passages from the Bible, take them out of context, and build an entire theology on them. Indeed this most often happens with the writings of Paul. Peter himself said in 2 Peter 3:15,16, "Our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." The truth is that nothing of what Paul wrote contradicts any part of the Bible. Many forget that certain epistles addressed specific issues, controversies, and problems in specific churches in Asia Minor. But people will take them and attempt to apply these specific corrections, reproof, and instructions to other issues or doctrines of the Bible. Colossians 2:16 being the prime example. This verse is almost always taken out of context and used to attempt to say that we are not to keep the seventh-day Sabbath, when in fact Paul was speaking of the sacrificial/ceremonial system which the unbelieving jewish people were trying to force the Christian believers to keep, the system which had been fulfilled at the death of Jesus Christ. Paul speaks of the Feasts, which included the High Sabbaths, such as Passover, as not being binding anymore. Yet, professed Christians twist this for their own sinful purposes. Thank you for that article. I have added it to my 'repertoire' of information. :hf: Here's a few quotes of interest regarding the same issue. "Sunday is our mark of authority..... The church is above the Bible, and this transference of sabbath observance is proof of that fact." The Catholic Record, London, Ontario, September 1, 1923. "Sunday is a Catholic institution and its claim to observance can be defended only on Catholic principles..... From beginning to end of Scripture there is not a single passage that warrants the transfer of weekly public worship from the last day of the week to the first." Catholic Press, Sydney, Australia, August 1900. Speaking of the Antichrist, "And he would think to change times and laws..." Daniel 7
A most powerful video. Those who love Jesus Christ, it is TIME TO WAKE UP.
It is time to cast off the false half-gospel, so called 'love gospel', which is nothing but the very opposite of what Christ taught!
It is the time of REPENTANCE, of dying to the sinful self daily, of dying to the things of this world, of dying to speaking, talking, and doing as the sinful world does. You CANNOT be saved if you choose to remain in sin, deluding yourselves that you will be saved simply because you 'believe'!
"Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins." Isaiah 58:1

Things will take place this year which will test the very heart of man. You WILL NOT stand faithful if you have neglected to conquer sin and self in your life through the power of Prince Immanuel. We must be ready today, and everyday!
Is your every word, thought, and action exactly what Jesus Christ would do? Or are they patterned after this sinful world?
IT IS TIME.
