So, someone came up with the 13th sign to fit. Thats what I heard..
No. The Chilean earthquake, like all earthquakes, affected the earth's axis by an amount far too small to detect, a matter of milliarcseconds. It has nothing to do with Ophiuchus. The line of the ecliptic passes through the borders of 13 constellations, that's not new. The borders of the constellations were formally established by the IAU in 1930 (though even this 18th century star map shows the ecliptic passing through the feet of the figure of Ophiuchus: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ophiuchus.jpg ). When those borders were established, it became official in astronomy that the ecliptic passed through 13 constellations, not 12. News stories about the "13th zodiac sign" go back to at least the 80's.
I'm too young to remember stuff in the 80's... There's barely any information about the 13th zodiac these days compared to everything else. I found the information on a freemason website from Canada LOL. I'm still a little surprised from how well the IBEX inflow of the interstellar wind matches up perfectly with this 13th constellation. In 2005, astronomers using data from the Green Bank Telescope discovered a superbubble so large that it extends beyond the plane of the galaxy. It is called the Ophiuchus Superbubble. In April 2007, astronomers announced that the Swedish-built Odin satellite had made the first detection of clouds of molecular oxygen in space, following observations in the constellation Ophiuchus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ophiuchus Supernova 1604, also known as Kepler's Supernova, Kepler's Nova or Kepler's Star, was a supernova that occurred in the Milky Way, in the constellation Ophiuchus. As of September 2011, it is the last supernova to have been unquestionably observed in our own galaxy, occurring no farther than 6 kiloparsecs or about 20,000 light-years from Earth. Visible to the naked eye, it was brighter at its peak than any other star in the night sky, and all the planets (other than Venus), with apparent magnitude −2.5. It was visible during the day for over three weeks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SN_1604 Looks like there's many interesting things to observe in the direction of this constellation. These celestial events and others are the basis of so many myths. If we can understand the cause of the myths and legends, we can finally be able to understand what ancient people meant with the stories they wrote. But now we can understand them in a way that we study and observe these events. Dr. Anthony Perrat is one of those scientists who has made the link between plasma lab experiments and petroyglyphs. And I'm certain there are many more works of "art" and stories which all have a basis in reality and celestial events we have not yet encountered in our modern world.
I wish I could embed this image, but this is really strange. The new IBEX finding shows the interstellar wind is flowing into our solar system from this exact area.
Above scorpio and between libra and saggitarius.

I just happened to come across this tidbit of information which points to that EXACT spot IBEX has identified as being the entry point of the interstellar wind.
Astrologers, or those interested in the historical development of astrology, will point out that some systems include a thirteenth sign of the zodiac known as
Ophiuchus Serpentarius, the Serpent Holder. This constellation lies between Sagittarius and Libra, somewhat over Scorpio.
In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries this constellation was called Alpheichius. Known as the "God of Invocation", this house was named after the legendary healer, Ophiuchus (Asclepius). The two serpents in his hands later replaced the twin
around the caduceus which became a symbol for physicians. Plato called this thirteenth sign
"the god of the underworld".
I didn't even know there was a 13th zodiac.
