But the serpent is a give away sign that there must have been something of importance in that area to the ancients... :inflow:
I'm not suggesting anything else. Just that the place of the 13th zodiac and the new IBEX discovery are exactly the same. I didn't know we even had a 13th one... Something must've happened in ancient times that caused people to see filaments of plasma which they referred to as serpents and dragons. If it normally doesn't glow, something has to make it more dense in order for it to glow and be seen with our eyes. Much more denser. Perhaps a dense plasma cloud? Streaming in from the heliosphere and into our solar system, unseen and invisible for now. Pushing the heliosphere inwards and making it shrink, causing more cosmic rays to reach Earth and the magnetosphere.
Or we are talking about the Blazar or GRB that PSSZZZZ mentioned in his famous thread.
http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1282272/pg1 In theory it is possible. If there was a huge amount of electromagnetic radiation that happened to be passing through a section of the cloud, and is dense enough, it could be ignited. Just like our laser experiments on earth with fusion, we use lasers to ignite a plasma that is billions and trillions of degrees. It's always a possibility, no matter how small. This would be the equivalent of the perfect storm, just the right space environmental conditions and timing of the burst(s). There is no way to predict a GRB or the passage of a cloud. Cloud passages are rare in themselves, happening only a couple of hundred times in the history of the earth, although they can last for hundreds of thousands of years, depending on how large they are. Dense clouds are estimated to only have occurred less than 50 times. Not many people actually understand how cosmic rays have influenced and affected evolution on earth... Evolution experiences "bursts" which no one can explain and those bursts tend to come with a substantial rise in cosmic ray. Since cosmic rays are constantly showering on us, we're surrounded by the radiation and radiation is THE only thing that induces mutations in DNA. So consider that cosmic rays have provided the planet with the radiation needed to create mutations which cause living things to evolve. Then you'll see that these coincidental bursts of cosmic rays and the burst of evolutions are linked. So all in all, a GRB from a theoretical object like a blazar (they label it but have no idea what they are) may give us a nice light show but won't really affect us in any way. However the heliosphere shrinking to beyond our orbit will have a huge impact on everything from weather to DNA mutation. A changing solar environment will cause a changing terrestrial environment, it's pretty simple. How long have we been facing climate change??? The solar environment and space weather is a major contributor of the climate and weather systems on earth. Some people just want you to believe that humans are the only contributor to the changing climate but the fact is we're just a tiny part of it.
I wish I could embed this image, but this is really strange. The new IBEX finding shows the interstellar wind is flowing into our solar system from this exact area.
Above scorpio and between libra and saggitarius.

I just happened to come across this tidbit of information which points to that EXACT spot IBEX has identified as being the entry point of the interstellar wind.
Astrologers, or those interested in the historical development of astrology, will point out that some systems include a thirteenth sign of the zodiac known as
Ophiuchus Serpentarius, the Serpent Holder. This constellation lies between Sagittarius and Libra, somewhat over Scorpio.
In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries this constellation was called Alpheichius. Known as the "God of Invocation", this house was named after the legendary healer, Ophiuchus (Asclepius). The two serpents in his hands later replaced the twin
around the caduceus which became a symbol for physicians. Plato called this thirteenth sign
"the god of the underworld".
I didn't even know there was a 13th zodiac.
