[quote:arkay:MV8xNzc2Mjk3XzMzNjgzMTkxX0QzNEY5N0NE] Influenza figures for New Zealand for the period from the 17th of September to the 23rd of September 2012 are as follows. INFLUENZA WEEKLY UPDATE 2012/38: 17 – 23 September 2012 The national influenza surveillance system in New Zealand is an essential public health component for assessing and implementing strategies to control influenza. This report summarises the data collected on influenza-like illness (ILI) from sentinel general practice (GP) surveillance and non-sentinel surveillance for week 38 (17 – 23 September 2012). Summary · ILI through sentinel surveillance was reported from 19 out of 20 District Health Boards (DHB) with a national consultation rate of 21.0 per 100 000 (80 ILI consultations). · A total of 290 swabs were received from sentinel (8) and non-sentinel (282) surveillance. · 46 viruses were identified: A (Not subtyped) (19), A(H3N2) (13), B (Lineage not determined) (12), and A(H1N1)pdm09 (2) including one A/California/7/2009 (H1N1)- like virus. In week 38, ILI consultation rate has decreased below the baseline. The proportion of positive influenza samples has also decreased. Influenza A(H3N2) viruses remain the predominant virus in many regions. These viruses do not appear to demonstrate a major antigenic drift. Link here... I previously engaged in several threads regarding the potentially devestating potential of H5N1.
Some readers who havent even attempted to gain any sort of education have downvoted my thread to the point that no-one got the chance to read and learn, on a topic that I have been closely monitoring for several years, ever since the World Health Organization announced their concerns for it to go pandemic.
Now the following link is showing its steady but relentless advance and in all probability its eventual final evolutionary mutation to become an airborne dissease that will readily spread throughout humanity with devistating effects.
