Original Message We just received this notice from the water company.

We'd rather not have EMFs beamed into our heads as we sleep, as the meter sits directly on the other side of the wall where our heads rest on our bed.

Help please. How to stop this legally?

Here's the notice:

02/01/2012

Dear New Jersey American Water Customer:

New Jersey American Water is committed to providing superior service to our customers. We'd like to tell you about an improvement project planned for customers in your area.

New Jersey American Water will be installing radio frequency devices on meters in your area. Once installed, the new device will enable New Jersey American Water employees to conduct meter readings without setting foot on your property. This will eliminate the need to estimate meter readings during inclement weather.

To implement this improved service, New Jersey American Water's contractor In Line Services of Flemington, NJ, will need to update the meter device. It is expected that the procedure will take approximately 30 minutes.

-If your meter is located outside of your home: There is no need to make an appointment. Our contractor can perform the work on the meter.

-If your meter is located inside: Our contractor will need to access the meter. To schedule an appointment at a time that is convenient for you, please contact In Line Services Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 800-557-3088. You may also request an appointment by e-mail at [email protected]. If we do not hear from you, please know that an In Line Services representative will visit your property when they are in your area. If you are not at home when they visit, the representative will leave a note asking you to call to schedule an appointment.

New Jersey American Water thanks you in advance for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

New Jersey American Water
