I would have gotten into collies but the show dogs don't really look much like Lassie now.  I have read that a lot of them have had their brains bred out, like with GSD, even though my dream as a kid was to breed collies.  There are farm collies, which are supposed to be the kind that don't have the elongated head, though honestly I prefer a larger dog but they look nice -

Original Message My favourite Breed of Dog has got to be the Labrador because of their gentle nature and loving personality. I have owned a Border Collie,German Shepards-which all have been too protective and aggresive around their toys and rather scary.A Paterdale Terrier-Very small, but an escape artist and dominating.A Hunterway which was gentle but Huge. I currently have a Black Labrador and i Love him too bits, he is so gentle you could take his ball right out of his mouth and cuddle him ETC. I will definetly stick to Labradors from now on, i like Chocolate Labradors the most, then Black, then Yellow.
