[quote:Anonymous Coward 10153246:MV8xODI0MTI1XzMwMzgxOTQ4XzNBM0ZERTBC] [quote:Anonymous Coward 4481477:MV8xODI0MTI1XzMwMzgxNjEyX0FDQzE4NDZE] Most of the Ron Paul candidates in many WA state county caucuses were probably already eliminated in a "unity" slate that was promoted by key Romney people and included Romney, Gingrich, and Santorum delegates in a blatant attempt to shut out any of the RP delegates from moving on to the state convention. This process was pre-planned and the delegates to this unity slate were arbitrarily selected based on their "long term service" to the Republican party (with the full knowledge that delegates that were new to the process would be shut out). By the 3rd round of voting .. all the RP delegates were gone in the Pierce County caucuses that I have personal knowledge of. RP had about 25% of the voting delegates ... and ended up with no delegates going to the State convention. If this happened in many districts in WA (and I know it happened in many of them) ... then there would be much fewer RP delegates at the state convention anyway. The damage has already been done ... and it was supported at the county level by the very Santorum delegates who are now proposing to "switch sides" and ally themselves with the remaining RP delegates to the State convention that are left? What hypocrisy! ... even though the idea of preventing the same unity slate from shutting out the remaining RP delegates at State and reducing Romney's chances of taking the majority is a valid strategy. This should have been done one round earlier for it to be most effective and prevent the same tactics from doing the damage that it has already done. Hmmmm ..... [/quote] yes same thing in georgia, except the theft was done at the mass precincts. but bottom line a brokered convention is our only hope. at the very least it will shake things up with these filthy rino neocon traitors. look at how small the numbers are in the vote totals... the gop is atrophying. our only prayer is for ron to go independent at some point. i have really come to hate the local rinos, and i am a real conservative. From the Seattle Times:
The latest twist: Rick Santorum's campaign is teaming up with Ron Paul supporters in an effort to deny Romney delegates, apparently at the direction of Santorum himself.
The strategy has alarmed some top GOP officials who fear it will crack party unity and lead to a nasty scene at the state convention in a couple months. It has also angered some grassroots Santorum supporters.
In an email to Santorum supporters Thursday, state volunteer coordinator Graden Neal laid out the plan:
"Last night, the Washington State Rick Santorum leadership had a conference call with a special guest, the Senator himself. We were surprised and honored that Rick Santorum himself came on our call to help give us direction. And the Senator didn't mince words. In order for us to win the nomination in Tampa in August, we must deny Romney delegates to that convention. If the frontrunner, Romney receives 1,144 delegates before the national convention, it is all over for our campaign. That is the reason why the Senator himself directed us to coalition with the Ron Paul delegates to deny Romney any state delegates."
