Original Message I have read about various alternative methods online, including dumping rock salt down your toilet/clean out because it will be absorbed by the roots and kill them.

Just curious if anybody has any experience with this and if any of these 'cheap' methods work effectively.

I really don't want to (not too mention can't afford to) pay a plumber upwards of $10,000 to dig up my front yard and replace an old sewer line.

Any advice would be appreciated.
