This has to be the worst planned Sunday in the history of LosAngeles. Or they are provoking a little civil unrest...
Look at this schedule for DTLA on May 20:
7:00am STREET CLOUSRES-
BEVERLY HILLS, WEST HOLLYWOOD, HOLLYWOOD,AND DOWNTOWN:

HOLLYWOOD BLVD
CEAZAR CHAVEZ
ALPINE
(now downtown, all around STAPLES CENTER where KINGS/CLIPPERS WILL PLAY)
FIGUEROA
PICO
FLOWER
OLYMPIC
OLIVE
11TH
HILL ST
GRAND
TEMPLE
*CHICK HEARN COURT(THIS IS THE STREET DIRECTLY INFRONT OF STAPLES.)*
These streets are shut down for a "Amgen of California"
bicycle race.The race will draw 250,000 fans to the streets around the STAPLES CENTER.
11:45 GRANDE FINALE OF THE RACE AT LA LIVE
12:00 KINGS SOLD OUT PLAY OFF GAME BEGINS AT STAPLES 18,118 PEOPLE ATTENDING. THEIR ARRIVAL WILL OVERLAP WITH THE BIKERS.PARKING WILL BE INSANE, OUT IN THE GHETTOS,DANGEROUS.
7:30 CLIPPERS GAME AT STAPLES CENTER. EXPECTING 19,079 MORE FANS. IT WILL OVERLAP WITH DRUNK KINGS FANS LINGERING.
Police have erected 2 "pedestrian bridges" (aka lookout towers)at FIGUEROA N OF CHICKHEARN/11TH ST(front of staples)
and FIGUEROA N OF PICO
The funny thing is, on local tv in la, they are really hyping up the games, but saying nothing about the road closures. they say get there early, but that will really screw things up! Is this all planned insanity? what do you think?
And this "bike race" tradionally takes place in beautiful wine country 'fresh air' areas, not toxic cities like smoggy los angeles!
