There used to be pages and pages of jobs listed for any one particular skill or field, even back in 2002 when the job market was pretty damn poor. Now there are only one or two pages listed within a 100 mile radius for a specific field or skill set and most of those jobs have been there since before Thanksgiving. They just keep re-listing them and I don't think those people are even hiring because I have gone to the actual locations when I received no response from the online process of applying. The local people said they were not, in fact, hiring for the positions and did not even know there were listings out on job boards for their company. WTF? I've been out of work for 10 months. No income for 10 freaking months! I have a stellar work history (I was at my last job for 10 years). I have a college degree, an great references, 5 professional licenses and I interview very well. I've had some luck in responses from applying online but have been turned down from one company because they went into a hiring freeze right as I was about to be made an offer (4 months of interviewing) and they still have the job listed on their career page even though they are not hiring for it. A couple of other promising offers went nowhere due to these stupid personality tests which I have spent weeks researching only to find out some really messed up information on how these things are scored. For instance, did you know that according to behavioral "scientists" that people who have empathy and concern for other people or concern for humanity, in general, are less likely (according to them) to be successful and have no drive to make money? Who knew? WTF!! I'm certain that I failed these tests because I answered questioned that displayed I care about other people. And despite the fact that I have a proven record of successful sales (my resume has a huge list of awards that I have received) and despite having a long history of high income in a commission only field, I am rejected because some test says peole who have compassion for others are not desirable leaders. And it's a double edge sword because those who do not test positive for empathy are deemed to be poor team players and have a tendency to cause conflict in the work place. So damned if you do, damned if you don't. An you can't even get your foot in the door to talk to an actual human being at most of these places until you take these STUPID tests. I'm so fed up with this stupidity! I need a job. I want to work. I'm highly skilled, professionally licensed, 15 plus years of experience and proven success. I have never collected a dime of unemployment. I don't want hand outs. I want a job so I can survive! It's nothing short of genocide. People need money to simply be alive. Aaaarrrggh!!! :fistofdeath:
Some have it alot worse. like NASA employees. cant put 35 years into a paragraph. Im in my 4th year now, was homless for 2011 lived in my car that broke down savings ran out micky d wont hire me as for the tests GODDAMN IT!! ITS TIME TO FUCKEN SUE THESE ASSHOLES!!!!! EMPLOYERS ARENT QUALLIFIED TO GIVE PSYCOLOGICAL EXAMS.....
you sound like a loser lol
Just read in the Business Insider this morning that the actual jobless rates are quite staggering. Makes me wonder how bad this really is. So many different statistical numbers that it leads to a lot of speculation. Regardless things are not getting any better.
-----------------------------
"The national unemployment rates gets lots of attention, and lately more attention has been paid to the workforce participation rate since more Americans have given up looking for a job, but we can also see that an astounding 100 million Americans don’t have jobs.
Specifically, these are people who are part of the civilian over-16 non-institutional population who are either unemployed or not part of the workforce."
