[quote:Anonymous Coward 12378649:MV8xODgxNDI4XzMxNDE5MTE3Xzg3NzgyREQ=] When I was about 17 and a relatively new driver. While driving on a two lane road in the suburbs, with some friends, a rabbit ran across the road in front of me. I put on the brakes but it was too close and We heard the car hit it. I pulled over to the side of the road and my friends and I started looking in the brush along the side of the road. We found it lying on its side panting briskly and some blood coming from its mouth. We discussed what to do and I decided since I had hit it I would take it to a Vet in hopes the bunny could be saved. I picked him up gently with both hands under him supporting his head and body together and then, It died in my hands. We left the bunny there and went on our way. It was very traumatic for me but I realized all I could do was say a prayer for the rabbit's soul. [/quote]
Just wondering, spiritually speaking...
There is a baby bunny we found in the back yard today with a broken neck. He cannot sit up straight and can only twirl around in fear when we come near. He cannot walk. He seems to be just laying there panting now. He is breathing very fast and his eyes seem to be rolling back into his head.
Should we put him out of his misery? He seems to be in a lot of pain.
If yes, how should we do it? We don't have any guns here
EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT
as I said a few posts below, found out he has "head tilt", which is easily curable. so no killing necessary :)
been feeding him with a dropper, calmed down, and he is comfortable with the makeshift den we have constructed for him until I can get him to a vet after memorial day so he can be treated
and would I spend a little money for bunny antibiotics to save and enrich the life of a wild bunny? fuck yes I would.
