The last 3 nights they have been similar. Two I was being chased and one I was the one chasing. I think I'm being chased and chasing the same thing. It just feels the same. The first two I was being chased by "something" that was morphing into different things. Two nights ago...this thing was trying to trick me to get me to come to it. For example one time it changed into a dog and ran in front of a car...(I am a dog lover) so I ran to try to rescue it. Well halfway to the road I realized I was being tricked and it really wasn't a dog it was this "thing". I turned to run and it was instantly behind me and pushed me down a huge hill which caused me to "snowball" down the hill. I was stopped by a sliding glass door of a home and I hit it hard. In the dream I was so badly hurt that I couldn't physically move but somehow I got up and walked away while my body was still laying there. I ran into this home and was trying to tell the family I needed help. This "thing" came inside and electrocuted the family in front of me. The "thing" said "no-one can hide from me" and "I am coming for all". At that point in the dream I jumped out of a 2nd or 3rd story window to try to escape. That is when I woke up. Last night, it felt like the same thing only that I was chasing it. It was like I was fed up with the pain it was inflicting on people and I was going to confront it. I watched it hurt or kill people in what seemed like war or something. Its so hard to describe, It's like it was going from group to group of people and wreaking havoc. For some reason in that dream I was less afraid and just wanted to stop it from hurting people. When I woke up though it was no different, I was terrified at how vivid it was.
I am having some extremely vivid, horrible dreams. They are so bad I am having them every night now and I wake up in a cold sweat. I have had nightmares my entire life but this last week they have been worse than normal and everynight.
I just want them to stop....or at least for me to not remember them. I'm in my mid 30s and I know I should not let them bother me this bad. After the last 3 nights of dreams, I am actually dreading going to sleep tonight. I really don't want to have another one. They are so vivid that I have to wake up and "talk myself out of" the dream due to my heart racing and sweating like crazy.
Anyone have any advice of what I can do to calm my mind so I can maybe stop them?
Thanks in advance for any help, I really appreciate it!
