Over 16 Thousand Trillion operations per Second. Thats fast! Blows the GPU's off the Chinese motherboard you could say.
About time the U.S. boasts its intellect again on the global scale of Computer technology.
The announcement Monday at the 2012 International Supercomputing Conference in Hamburg, Germany recognized Sequoia, an IBM BlueGene/Q system installed at the Department of Energy's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. The machine delivered an impressive 16.32 petaflops -- a petaflop equating to a thousand trillion operations -- per second.

Based on proprietary chinese technology, The fastest Chinese Microchip Tech computer is about 1 thousand trillion calculations per second or a petaflop.
China has made its first supercomputer based on Chinese microprocessor chips, an advance that surprised high-performance computing specialists in the United States.
The Sunway system, which can perform about 1,000 trillion calculations per second — a petaflop — will probably rank among the 20 fastest computers in the world. More significantly, it is composed of 8,700 ShenWei SW1600 microprocessors, designed at a Chinese computer institute and manufactured in Shanghai.

China did not last long at the top spot for fastest computer in the world and has dropped to third overall at about 1.4 times the power the Jaguar has, so approximately 3 petaflops.
