[quote:Afterlife Explorer 12179886:MV8xOTA0Nzc3XzMxODQzMDUxXzM0NkE3NDQ2] [quote:Anonymous Coward 17555794:MV8xOTA0Nzc3XzMxODQyOTM5X0RCODYwNzE4] I have a Windows 95 machine with 33.6k modem and Wildcat! 5 BBS software. Also have JNOS AX.25 <-> TCP/IP packet radio on 2 meter HAM radio.
Sounds like a good set up, what radio/rig do you use on 2m? Using a PacComm TINY-2 MKII at 1200bps here, using UI-View 32 software for APRS and a Yaesu FT-897D radio.
But what if its not?
What the hell we going to do for our news?
The net being down?
Cant rely on tv or newspapers.
Phone tree is the only thing I can think of.
I agree now it may not be best idea thanks to replies.
However the radio thing may not be option for those of us who cant afford the longer range ones.
Had not thought on phone going out. radio waves would still be option if batteries last etc.
