Original Message So I've read through the mind blowing threads about the deep web but after going through the TOR network all I found was a dark corner of the web full of deprived souls.

What I expected to find down there would most likely be described similiar to "Mariana's Web" but after navigating through TOR in search of this goldmine I was met with a horrific image of what's known as a goatse. Apparently many others fell for this too.

I feel like I am beginning to understand this concept of the Deep Web but I was wondering if someone would help to clarify a few things. First of all, was the image that was posted of the "copypasta" of the deep web simply used for trolling people into going through TOR and finding the "goatse" or was it based on something deeper?

And if so, is that something deeper found in one of the various databases of the deep web? (Clear Net)
