Contrails that I have seen and do know about are easily explained. Read on for one simple explanation. Beyond normal concerns about pollution caused by the burning of fuels, a contrail is nothing to be feared and is a normal result of expelling hot water vapor into a cold atmosphere. A contrail appears when the byproducts of combustion in airplane exhaust are expelled at high altitudes where atmospheric temperatures are low. During combustion, the hydrocarbon fuel combines with oxygen. When the HC and the O2 are combined, the 3 main byproducts are Heat, CO2 (Carbon Dioxide), and H2O (Water). The heat causes the gasses to expand, and it is the expansion of gas that drives the engine and propels the aircraft. After the hot expanded gas has passed through the engine, the gas is expelled into the atmosphere. When it is exposed to the cold ambient air, the hot water vapor will cool and condense, and create visible vapor that has come to be known as a contrail. If the relative humidity is low, the contrail will dissipate quickly, but if the humidity is already at a high level, the contrail will take longer to dissipate. The same phenomenon can be seen at ground level when you see a car's exhaust on a cold humid day. Concerned about gaps in the trail l that some claim as evidence of turning the alleged device on and off? That would happen under atmospheric conditions similar to those that allow for there to be scattered clouds. Concerned about a noticeable increase in contrails compared to decades ago? There are more jet aircraft now than there were decades ago. Concerned about why wingtip vortices dissipate so quickly when compared to contrails? Condensation in a vortex is not caused by the addition of additional water vapor. It is caused by a temporary reduction in localized atmospheric pressure, and its duration varies depending on humidity and other factors. An aircraft CAN NOT CARRY anywhere near the amount of material needed to make trails the sizes you claim.
What is happening is that moisture ALREADY IN THE air is changing state and becomes visible.
Ever watch one of the large C-130 fire fighting aircraft?
Specially made to carry large loads and fly short distances.
When it dumps it's load how much area does it cover? Half a mile?
You've been duped by hoaxters.
Trying to cling to such idiotic claims just shows how ignorant you are of aviation and physics.
