Original Message The Australian Minister for "Climate Change", Greg Combet, said that the shutdown of a dirty coal power was nothing to do with the "Carbon Tax". He said it is "absurd and ridiculous" to say that the shutdown was because of the "Carbon Tax".

Maybe I have misunderstood this whole "Global Warming" and "Carbon Tax" thingy. Didn't they impose a "Carbon Tax" with the intention of getting dirty coal power plants to close down? Shouldn't the Minister be saying that the "Carbon Tax" DID close down the power station so that he could claim that the Carbon Tax is working as intended?

No that's "absurd and ridiculous" to say that! In fact, the Carbon Tax is just a tax. No dirty coal power plants will close down because of it. The real goal of the Carbon Tax is apparently revealed.

The Carbon Tax is to COLLECT TAX ON EVERYTHING. No dirty coal power plants will close down! Electricity will just cost more, that's all!!! Oh boy, this sure is getting confusing.

"THE carbon price was the ''final straw'' that forced the closure of the heavily polluting Munmorah coal-fired power plant on the central coast, but the main cause was a drop in electricity demand, Delta Electricity said.

The Climate Change Minister, Greg Combet, accused Delta of playing politics on behalf of the NSW government by linking the closure to the carbon price.

''It is absurd and ridiculous to attribute the decision to decommission Munmorah as having anything to do with carbon pricing,'' he said. ''One can only conclude that Delta, which is owned by the NSW government, is trying to add to the Liberal Party scare campaign.''"

So remember: If a coal power plant shuts down, it is "absurd and ridiculous" to say that the Carbon Tax had anything to do with it. No coal power plants will shut down due to the Carbon Tax!!!
