"call no man on earth 'father', for your father is in heaven." if you want to fill the void with satanism, idolatry and papal worship - well, that's your freedom (which is one of two things this 'church' has always hated most: freedom and truth -see galileo).
Christ instructed Peter to set up the catholic church.
The “Rock” of Matthew 16:18 “I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.” This passage is the so-called hallmark proof-text that Rome uses to teach that Peter was the “rock” (and thus, the first “Pope”) upon which Christ built His church. This notion also spawned other false Catholic doctrines such as the “infallibility” of the Pope when speaking, ex cathedra—“from the throne”): We declare, say, define, and pronounce that it is absolutely necessary for the salvation of every human creature to be subject to the Roman Pontiff” (Pope Boniface VIII, papal bull, Unam Sanctam, A.D. 1302; emphasis added). However, as with any text of Scripture. . . http://christiandefense.org/Article_%20Matt.%2016.18.htm
You think the early christian didnt know what christ meant? And you 2000 years later prove them wrong?
Original Message
I'm a very lapsed Catholic. I was baptised as a baby but have only ever attended weddings & funerals.
But I'm thinking about going to church as there's a void in my life. Are there any other Catholics on here?
