For the past few months, when I've looked in the sky at night, there has barely been a single star in the sky.
I couldn't take it any more. Drove about 30 or 40 miles to a dark place. Finally! Lots of stars!
What is so cool when looking at them steadily even for just several seconds, you can see the stars rotate as it were.
Then it occurred to me that the earth travels about 600 million miles each year going around the sun. Which means were are travelling 68,000 miles an hour through space in that pattern in addition to spinning 1,000 miles an hour!
So here is the puzzler, If I stick my arm out of my car window, traveling at 60 miles an hour, there is a tremendous wind resistance.
But I don't feel any wind to speak of despite spinning at 1,000 miles and hour and flying around the sun at 68,000 miles an hour??
God must know what It is doing far beyond our own capacity to understand. How did he make it so we aren't pressed against the earth by the incredible speeds were are constantly facing?
