When adding the latest photograph and creating a new composite, we have a slightly increased accuracy of 96.3 percent in identifying Aurora shooter James Holmes as a participant in Occupy NY. He was reportedly arrested (but not formally charged) after being carried off the Brooklyn Bridge by police, on or about October 2.
As has been noticed elsewhere, the Feds were casually tracking Holmes following his participation in the October Occupy NY and other Occupy rallies. NYC Police Commissioner Kelly accidentally leaked this immediately following the shooting by identifying Holmes' red-colored hair — dyed again somewhat recently — with the NYC Police Commissioner calling Holmes by his nickname "The Joker".
Obviously, this would be politically damaging on many fronts, because Holmes was not stopped before his terror attack in Colorado. Late Sunday, we discovered the judge has sealed the case file, warrants and other legal devices; the first appearance must legally take place within 72 hours of the suspect’s arrest.
The case documents have been sealed for several reasons. Most importantly, public disclosure between Holmes and Occupy Black Bloc is being withheld until enough news cycles have passed and the shooting is no longer front page in the news. Then, disclosure can happen quietly on page 17. Public panic is something officials do not want, as well as public embarrassment of involved public officials.
Authorities also want to question all of his accomplices and/or contacts. That investigation is ongoing, now that Feds have access to Holmes’ cell phone records, text message records, and laptop. They hope to determine if he wrote his manifesto alone, or along with others in his small circle. Holmes is said to have been using a modified TOR OpNewblood configuration to mask his activities on the internet.
Note: it has been acknowledged by some LEOs that it is possible those in the San Diego and Denver Occupy movements may not have known Holmes by name, i.e., those Occupy members have purposely incurred some degree of plausible deniability. This is because aliases are an important tool in some clusters of the Occupy movement — particularly in Black Bloc activities — to protect each other in the eventuality that members are apprehended in the course of a crime.
