[quote:Dutch Dude 913721:MV8xOTM3NjYxXzMyNDYwNjE3XzUyOUU0NTA=] [quote:Anonymous Coward 17152779:MV8xOTM3NjYxXzMyNDYwMjU4X0Y2RjM5NDE5] Yes, it was just like that. Although it was the biggest crowd I've ever seen, everyone was real polite, no pushing or shoving. The one thing I don't care for is the electronic dance music. I don't understand why that's so popular in Europe. I also don't understand why Paris is the world's most popular tourist destination, when Amsterdam is so much better in every way.
Well, Holland has the most popular electronic acts, Dj Tiestp, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk etc, It's something that started in the 80s with uptempo high energy music, starting in Italy and picked up by Holland and the UK, who perfected it. Most trance, techno and ambient acts are from The Netherlands and Germany now. Paris... well people think it's more exclusive, in my opinion it's a different experience, Amsterdam is more cosy, we're not pretending to be more than we are, while the Parisians, well, they have a megalomanic superiority complex, just like the Milanese Italians... but could be far worse, think about the French part of Switzerland or the upper class from Brussels... Nice thing of Amstedam is that it has everything you need for a fair price, and very tight packed, Paris is almost as big as New York, Amsterdam is only 1/8 of that, so you save a lot travelling time to see and do everything. I could start a job at the tourist office, hahahaha
